2020 Activity themes
May 1-3 Cinco De Mayo (Wake Up Yogi)
It’s time to wake up the bear from a very long and cold winter. Come and join us as we make so much noise that Yogi cannot sleep any longer. Bring all your homemade noise makers and we will go on our annual “Bear Hunt” to find Yogi. Celebrate this weekend with a Fiesta good time. We will have a good time teaching Yogi how to do the Mexican Hat Dance, swing at a pinata, and make some crafts related to the Mexican culture.
May 8-10 Spring Fling (Mother’s Day)
It’s a weekend to celebrate your mom! Come to the park and enjoy crafts for mom, paint a ceramic or two, make mom a tie-dye shirt, and more. We will set a time aside just for moms…no kids allowed that they can create their own souvenir to take home. Moms will get a gift for staying with us and enjoy free coffee and donuts will be available for moms Saturday morning!
May 15-17 Under the Stars
Summer nights are the best when you can look up and see all the constellations and the moon. This weekend we will make crafts that are related to our solar system and outer space. We will learn about different constellations and where you can locate them in the night sky. join us at the activity barn for a fun weekend of Under the stars.
May 22-25 Memorial Day
Summer is finally here, and the pool is OPEN! Come and spend time with us and swim, make a new ceramic, a birdhouse, and burn a wood plaque with your family name on it. This weekend we will enjoy a live animal show and other activities including an archery tournament for both youth and adults.
May 29-31 Birthday Bash
It’s our favorite Bears birthday and we will celebrate, and everyone is invited! Come and hang out with Yogi Bear and have some cookies and punch, and participate in some birthday relay games, and paint a Yogi Bear ceramic bank!
June 5-7 Time Travel
It’s time to dust off the Grease attire for this fun-filled weekend! We will have fun crafts and activities for young and old alike. We will also have a sock hop dance at the pavilion, so dig out those poodle skirts and leather jackets for the dance on Saturday night!
June 12-14 Superheroes
Calling all Superheroes’! Do you have what it takes to be the best Jellystone park Superhero? This weekend will include races and relays and scavenger hunts that will challenge your mind. Take the Superhero pledge, receive your superhero code name and make a craft or two as well.
June 19-21 Tee Time (Father’s Day)
This is the weekend to treat your dad to the great outdoors. Bring dad to the park and let him rest and relax while you come and make a Father’s Day gift or two for him. Join us in the afternoon for a fun game of kids’ vs dad kickball game and a family friendly football game in the big field. Dad’s don’t forget your gift from Yogi and Dad will be able to enjoy a free donut and cup of coffee on us.
June 26-28 Pirates Vs. Mermaids (Water Wars #1)
It’s a Pirate, it’s a mermaid, It’s a Yogi Bear! Come and join the staff and make an eyepatch, a captain hook hand, search the grounds for treasures, and participate in a 3-legged relay, walk the plank and be the Mermaid on guard for the water fight of the weekend on the Hey wagon! Bring your squirt guns, and swimsuits and be prepared to get soak by other pirates and mermaids in the campground. NO BUCKETS OR WATER BALLOONS.
July 2-5 Party in the USA
Join Yogi Bear, Boo Boo, and Ranger Smith for an exciting weekend that celebrates our nation’s birthday. Make a red, white and blue tye dye shirt, participate in corn-hole tournaments, watermelon eating contests and more. Join us also for the annual Cardboard Boat Regatta Race.
July 10-12 Knights and Sprites
Here ye, here ye, come one and all. Let’s travel back in time and practice our archery skills, build mini catapults, go on a scavenger hunt and practice our jousting skills on a balance beam in addition to being creative with our ceramics, t-shirt art, woodburning and so much more!
July 17-19 Rainforest (Water Wars #2)
Swing like a monkey, hang like a chimpanzee, and slither like a snake. Come and join for some Rainforest fun with rain stick crafts, make a paper plate parrot, a zig zagging snake, and so much more. There will be vibrant tie shirt shirts to make, burn some wood, paint a ceramic and the evening firetruck or hey wagon ride.
July 24-26 Bearlympics
Gold, Silver, Bronze…. Who will be crowned the champ of the Jellystone Olympics! Be ready to show off your running skills, your throwing skills and get a team ready for relay games as well. We will have kids and adult races, in addition to slide races and the best dive with little or no splash and the biggest cannon ball splash in the pool from 7:30-8:45pm.
Jul 31-Aug 2 Mad Science
Oh Gross! Have you ever felt an eyeball, or worms? Join us this weekend as we play with mystery boxes, simple science experiments and so much more. How high does your favorite soda pop shoot, how long will Dry ice stay active…. Join the staff and a scientist for some fun exploding and messing experiments in the activity barn.
Aug 7-9 Tailgate
It’s a Football Extravaganza. We will have a contest for the best decorated campsite or cabin with your favorite NFL or College football team. The judging will be done by fellow campers. Come join in all the traditional tailgate activities as well as arts and crafts for the kids
August 14-16 Wet-N-Wild (Water Wars #3)
Join us for our last water wars weekend for 2020! Take a wet wagon ride through the campground and enjoy the laughter and squeals as you get seriously soaked! Enjoy some fun with crafts and water games as well!
August 21-23 Chocoholic
Do you want to get sticky and messy this is the weekend for you! Join us this weekend as we get messy with chocolate syrup in a campground kickball game, make a brown and white tie-dye shirt and so much more. Be sure to bring very old clothes and goggles for the chocolate lovers’ weekend.
August 28-30 Prehistoric
Let’s travel back in time to the days of the prehistoric era and explore an archaeological dig in the sand, play dinosaur freeze tag, and create extraordinary prehistoric crafts with the activity staff!
Sept 4-7 So long, summer!
It’s Labor Day Weekend!! Join Yogi Bear, Boo Boo, Cindy, and Ranger Smith for the last weekend for the pool. Campers can enjoy a camper only swim on Saturday night from 7:15 pm-9:00 pm. Enjoy themed crafts and games as well as fire truck and hey wagon rides. This weekend we will have a GLOW-N-Dark mini golf tournament.
Sept 11-13 Zoofari
Lions and Tigers and Bear, OH MY!!! Yogi’s activity barn will be roaring and stomping all weekend with animals and games. Come and learn about different zoo animals and make a craft or three in addition to the ceramic painting, woodboring, t-shirt art and more!
Sept 18-20 Maddening Mysteries
Enjoy hot cider, fresh apples, and try a spoon full of cooked apples. Make a craft that looks like a caramel apple and bob for apples in the activity barn. Don’t forget your candy as you will trick-or-treat around the campground on Sat. night after the costume contest. Family Friendly costumes for the costume contest. We will be making caramel apples, bobbing for apples, and apple crafts.
Sept 25-27 It’s Fall, Y’all!
Autumn leaves are falling, red, yellow, orange and brown. Come and join Yogi and create pictures with leaf rubbings, learn how to press leaves together with wax paper, and paint with leaves. Don’t forget your candy as you will trick-or-treat around the campground on Sat. night after the costume contest. Family Friendly costumes for the costume contest.
Oct. 2-4 Pumpkin Patch (Chili cookoff)
Pumpkins, pumpkins and more pumpkins. Enjoy crafts and games celebrating the pumpkin. Go on a hey wagon ride to visit the magic pumpkin patch, take a trip to Kingsway Pumpkin Farm and enjoy trick or treating in the campground. Can you beat the staff in this weekend’s chili cookoff competition? You will be awarded for the best overall, spiciest, most unique and best overall. Family Friendly costumes for the costume contest.
Oct. 9-11 Costume Party (Good Night Yogi)
Yogi Bear is ready to hibernate! Visit Kingsway pumpkin farm and our magic pumpkin patch while you stay with us for our final weekend. Campers and kids can wear their Pajama’s and slippers and help us tuck Yogi in for the winter and read him a few goodnight stories. Family Friendly costumes for the costume contest.
